Material Inspection
Verify the waterproof blanket's specifications and ensure it meets design requirements.
Check for defects such as tears or holes, and prepare auxiliary materials like adhesives and fixing nails.
Tool Preparation
Gather necessary tools, including scissors, measuring tape, trowels, hammers, and drills.
Site Clearing
Remove debris, sharp objects, and weeds from the slope to ensure a smooth, clean surface.
Level uneven areas and adjust the slope gradient to the recommended range (typically 1:1 to 1:1.5).
Measurement and Cutting
Measure the slope dimensions and cut the blanket to size, minimizing seams to reduce leakage risks.
Leave a 10–15 cm overlap allowance on each edge for adjoining sections.
Installation Sequence
Begin at the slope’s top and unroll the blanket downward, ensuring full contact with the surface.
Align the blanket’s longitudinal direction with the slope gradient to facilitate drainage and prevent water scouring.
Securing the Blanket
Fix the blanket with nails spaced 30–50 cm apart in a staggered pattern.
Reduce spacing at edges and corners for enhanced stability.
For soft soil, drive wooden stakes first, then attach the blanket to them.
Overlap Method
Overlap adjacent sheets by 10–15 cm. Clean the lower sheet’s edge, apply adhesive, and press the upper sheet firmly.
Sealing
Apply waterproof sealant or tape over seams for long-term durability and water resistance.
Corners (Inside & Outside)
For external corners, cut the blanket at 45° angles before overlapping.
For internal corners, add a 30–50 cm wide reinforcement layer before installing the blanket.
Pipe Penetrations
Cut the blanket to fit around pipes, wrap it tightly, and seal with waterproof sealant or clamps.
Visual Inspection
Ensure the blanket is smooth, wrinkle-free, and securely fastened. Verify seam integrity.
Leak Testing
Conduct a water spray test or fill the pond to check for leaks. Repair any issues immediately.
Avoid Mechanical Damage
Prohibit heavy machinery or sharp objects on the blanket. Use protective boards if necessary.
Prevent Human Interference
Post warning signs and assign supervisors to prevent unauthorized access or damage.
Environmental Protection
Shield the blanket from prolonged UV exposure by covering it with shade cloth or soil.
A meticulously installed waterproof blanket ensures long-term slope stability and leak-free pond performance.
