Characteristics of Geocell

Applications in Mountain Road Construction
Subgrade Reinforcement: Laying geocell on the subgrade of mountain roads can enhance the bearing capacity of the subgrade. When it is laid on a soft foundation and then filled with materials such as crushed stones and sand, the geocell can restrict the flow of the filling materials, making the subgrade denser and more stable, and reducing the settlement and deformation of the subgrade. Construction Key Points

Selection and Filling of Filling Materials: Select suitable filling materials such as crushed stones, sand, and planting soil according to the project requirements. Adopt the method of layered filling, and the thickness of each layer of filling should not be too large. Compact while filling to make the filling materials closely combined with the geocell.
Slope Protection Construction: If it is used for slope protection, after the geocell is filled, carry out greening work in a timely manner, such as planting vegetation or laying turf. Set up drainage blind ditches, side ditches and other facilities at the edge or inside of the geocell to ensure that rainwater and groundwater can be smoothly drained out of the subgrade area and avoid the damage to the subgrade and the geocell structure caused by accumulated water.


Quality Control and Inspection
Material Quality Inspection: Before construction, conduct quality inspections on the geocell and filling materials. Check whether the physical and mechanical performance indicators of the geocell, such as tensile strength, tear strength, burst strength, etc., meet the design requirements. The indicators such as the particle size, gradation, and mud content of the filling materials should also meet the relevant standards.
Quality Control during Construction: During the construction process, strictly operate in accordance with the construction specifications and design requirements. Check the laying flatness of the geocell, the firmness of the connection, and the compactness of the filling materials, etc. Regularly inspect the completed project parts and rectify the problems found in a timely manner.
Inspection after Completion: After the project is completed, conduct a comprehensive inspection of the subgrade, slope and other parts of the mountain road, including the inspection of indicators such as the compactness and deflection value of the subgrade, and the stability and vegetation coverage rate of the slope. Through on-site inspection and laboratory tests and other methods, verify whether the project quality meets the design standards to ensure the safety and stability of the mountain road.
